Hebron Band Students Excel at UIL Texas State Solo Contest
Hebron High School
Band members excelled at the UIL Texas State Solo Contest on May 26, at UT in Austin. Incoming senior, Chris Rzeznik, an alto
saxophone player, was recognized as a UIL Texas State Solo Contest Outstanding
Performer for the second consecutive year. Each judge in the competition, after
hearing approximately 90 soloists over a 2-day period, recognizes a single
performer for this honor. This title was
awarded to only six alto saxophonists state-wide, and to only 220 students
statewide. Chris is the Hebron Band
president, and is the son of Urek and Margaret Rzeznik, of Carrollton.
Roxanne Lee earned a 1st division
rating on the clarinet at the contest.
Josh Fetter-Salman, on oboe, Sarah Cooper, on horn, and Noel Behailu, on
soprano sax, as well as Jill Starks and Osar Aimuyo on clarinet earned division
two medals. Congratulations to all for
their success in the State contest!
