Mr. Robert Jernigan, a long-time resident of the community, realized that few people knew that Hebron was once a bustling town. Using photographs and his own memories, he recreated the buildings that made up the town in the early 1900’s, including a filling station, barber shop, doctor’s office, bank, grade school, high school, ice house, church, windmill, and train station. Without patterns or kits, he painstakingly built each model to scale. When Hebron High School opened in 1999, Mr. Jernigan and his wife donated the buildings to the school. |
