Dear Students,

Congratulations!  You will soon be receiving an information packet concerning Course Selections for the 2008-2009 school year at Hebron High School.  I hope you will consider taking an exciting course of study that: 1) Promotes high school completion and drug-free lives, 2) Develops informed and responsible citizens, 3) Develops a high degree of personal honor and self-reliance and 4) Promotes patriotism.  JROTC is available to all incoming 9th graders.  Students are provided uniforms, including shoes at no cost to you!

Why take NJROTC?

·        (1)  It satisfies Physical Education (PE), Health, and Elective course requirements.

·        (2)  NJROTC teaches cadets self-discipline, self-confidence and leadership skills that can

help you successfully meet life’s challenges.

·        (3)  The NJROTC curriculum, instruction and activities are designed to develop

leadership ability regardless of one’s career path.

·        (4)  NJROTC will help interested students obtain a college ROTC scholarship or an

appointment to the Naval Academy, Air Force Academy or West Point, among

            others.

·        (5)  Cadets are under no obligation to join the armed services, this is not a recruiting

program, it is a course much like a leadership or civics class.

A Cadet in the Hebron Navy JROTC will find numerous activities to participate in such as:

·        Annual Military Ball (Formal ceremony and dance involving cadets from the 5 LISD high schools).

·        Academic, Athletic, Drill Team and Color Guard competitions throughout the state.

·        Leadership Academy and Air Rifle marksmanship competitions.

·        Educational field trips, Campouts and Social events.

·        Orienteering (compass navigation outdoors).

“Take a leadership challenge, Take JROTC”
