ATHLETIC TRAINING AND TEAM SPORTS (SECOND PERIOD SPORTS TRAINING)

What is Athletic Training and Team Sports?

In order to give the athletes of Hebron High School the best care possible, we have designed a class to prepare students to assist all athletes as student athletic trainers. Athletic Training and Team Sports (Second period Sports Training on your course selection sheet) will teach students not only the information necessary for them to assist athletes, but the class will also teach the students about some of the sports that they could be assisting. By learning about these sports the students will be able to enjoy the sport, and have a better appreciation of the sport.  Student athletic trainers are needed with all sports at Hebron High School and this class will best prepare the students for the job of being a student athletic trainer.  Besides being involved with sports and going to the games, student trainers can earn a varsity letter jacket and receive physical education credit.  Involvement in athletic training does not have to end in high school, since many colleges give scholarships or some other kind of financial aid to student trainers.  In order to work with a college team, it is essential that the student starts gaining experience in high school.
