PSAT OR SAT? THAT IS THE QUESTION
The PSAT prep class is designed for junior students who score
170 or above on the PSAT they took as a sophomore. This is an accelerated class for students
hoping to become National Merit Semi-finalists; it also prepares students for
the SAT. National Merit Scholars must
score in the 200 range to qualify. The
average gain in scores for the PSAT class is in the 20’s. Some VERY motivated students improve their
scores by 30 or 40 points. Students who
enroll in the nine week PSAT fall course are required to attend 2 weeks in the
summer and 4 Saturdays in the fall.
Those students who score below 170 should enroll in the SAT
classes that prepare students to do well on their college entrance tests. This class has no summer or Saturday requirements
and is offered both semesters to juniors and seniors.
