1. What does NHS stand for?

2. What do you have to do to get into NHS?
    To be inducted into NHS, you are first invited to apply based on your grade point average. A letter along with paperwork is sent to each student who qualifies though g.p.a. The student then must fill out several forms that request the following information: a. leadership roles b. community service c. work experience d. awards experience e. extra-curricular and co-curricular activities The student's discipline record is then checked. The points are then added up. If a student earns 40 points or more, the student's application will go before the faculty board. The board is made up of 5 faculty members from all disciplines. All faculty members are asked to give input through a letter that is placed in his/her box at least 2 weeks prior to the board meeting. All of this information goes before the board, and if the board approves the student, then he/she is inducted into NHS.

3. What do you do in NHS?
    NHS sponsors many community activities and service projects. NHS painted a women and children's shelter, worked for CCA during the Christmas season, worked at a local Halloween carnival, adopted a highway, and much more.

4. Why would someone want to get into NHS?
    NHS is a great organization for those interested in high academic achievement and dedicated to community service. The organization has an outstanding reputation and is well-respected on the college level. There is also a scholarship given to an NHS member each year.
